Superior Animal Hospital & Boarding Suites

Senior Pet Care

Pets are considered seniors at 7-8 years of age. Our goal is to keep your senior pet healthy, active, and pain free through their golden years. With routine, comprehensive preventative care, we can help keep your special pet by your side for years to come.

Caring For Your Senior Pet

We recommend senior pets visit us twice a year so we can prevent age-related conditions from progressing. This is especially important because pets’ immune systems gradually weaken with age, leaving them more susceptible to parasites, disease, and illness.

As our pets age, behavioral changes can be expected. You may begin to notice confusion, increased vocalization, house soiling, infrequent grooming, and an altered sleep schedule. We understand that new behaviors like this can be challenging, but we’re here to help you and your senior pet.
